While surfing the blog of Janice Wong, local Vancouver artist, I came across the work of Jim Rimmer, westcoast printer, typeface designer and founder of the Pie Tree Press & Type Foundry. Pie Tree Press designed the work of Irving Layton and Al Purdy, among many others. Jim Rimmer died earlier this year, and an obit in the Globe and Mail commemorates his extensive contribution to the world of print artistry.
